"Operation ON. Everybody stay alert."

GENERAL. // The writer has a decade of RP experience on tumblr and other platforms. The writer and muse are both over 18. Regardless, I have no interest in threads with extreme violence (as in, I’m not into writing or reading a lot of blood and gore/extreme horror genre threads) or scenes of explicit sexual nature (implying something happened is one thing, but trying to play it out is quite another).FOLLOWING. // I am private and selective, meaning that I will not follow everyone and this is nothing against them or their ability or their character. I simply work a full-time job and have other factors that make it where I like to keep a clean dash for the sake of my sanity.I am completely open to RPing with OCs. I’ve written more than a few myself, here and elsewhere, and written with plenty from other writers. All characters were someone’s OC at some point or other. Some have just had more keepers than others.I understand how challenging it can be to find people willing to ‘take a risk’ or so much as acknowledge you. So long as the OC is well-written and well-developed and I can see how interaction could take place, I am perfectly willing to give it a shot. My preference is usually having a bio page, but I get life can be a bit crazy and getting everything about your character down into one page can be daunting at times. So long as you’re okay with me wanting to talk and chat so I can see how I think out characters could interact, it’s all good.I will also usually RP even with multiples of the same character or with different characters who have the same faceclaim. [ I will not acknowledge that they ‘look alike’ or ‘have the same face’. ] I love seeing the different takes that everyone has on their characters. Everyone brings something different, and I find it absolutely fascinating. There are a few exceptions due to developments in interacting because sometimes you just click with certain RPers and their characters. Any cases of this will be listed in my ‘mains’ page.MAINS & EXCLUSIVES. // While I do not practice exclusivity in 9.99999 of 10 cases, I do occasionally pick up mains. For me, this means that I will still be writing with others of the same muse, but the people listed will have priority as I have spoken with the writers a fair amount and am already quite attached to their particular take on their muse(s) and on the relationships/plots we have planned. Especially in cases where my focus is low and I know that I won’t manage more than a reply or two, they will very likely receive replies before I consider any others unless the mood/writing focus at the time dictates otherwise. I am always open to more mains, of course, with enough OOC talk and plotting, but this is where I am at the moment!Though exceedingly rare, there is the odd case where I will find myself with an exclusive, usually due to the writing having somehow fundamentally shaped my idea of the character and in how my character(s) interact with them. They are exclusives because they are the definitive version of that character for myself and my muses. If you are a multi with a character that I list as exclusive to/with someone, know that I will still follow you, and I would still love to write with your other characters. Just not the one that I have listed. Some examples of this are that I have a couple of friends who no longer write on tumblr, but I still will not write anywhere with any other Kate Bishop, Clint Barton, Emma Frost, or Natasha Romanoff of Marvel. I also will not write with any other Hector Barbossa of Pirates of the Caribbean. As for tumblr exclusives, I do have exactly one thus far, Reiikon who writes Jesse McCree/Colton "Cole" Cassidy. We have talked and plotted a lot and built up the relationships with our various characters in a way that I don’t think I can separate from how I view that muse. Neither do I think I can write my characters interaction with another at a ‘baseline’, because Reiikon set my view of Jesse and made me love the character where I was basically indifferent to start. Their Jesse is my definitive Jesse, and that’s that.

INBOX THINGS & STARTER CALLS. // I don’t mind curious anons and whatnot, or even non-mutuals who have ooc/headcanon questions, but I will only write and thread and answer in-character asks from memes and starters with mutuals. That said, the askbox is always open to memes, questions, or even conversation, in or out of character––so long as it is for or about the character. I won’t ask that you send in for every single meme you may reblog from me, but please don’t make me feel like a meme resource. I’m here to write a character just like you.I do roleplay/thread from asks. If you would like to continue one that I answered for you, all I request is that you put it in a post separate of the original ask. If you are unable to do this due to technical issues, just let me know.PLOTTING. // This account is open to RP with nearly any fandom. My preference is to have at least some vague knowledge of the fandom, but if a writer is willing to fill me in, I can manage. I am always willing to make new AUs and help craft crossovers. In fact, I love to do so! It's always interesting to see what can happen when you mix things up a bit!My preference for talking and plotting with other writers is through messaging, not asks, so that there are no slip-ups with ‘answer privately.’FORMATTING. // I do not format. If you choose to, by all means, but I haven't the brain power to do it myself.Mostly, my writing style is paragraphs (of varying lengths) with icons thrown in along the way. Please do not ever feel that you must match me for length of reply. [All I ask is that you give me enough to work with in your reply.] I do know that I can get rather wordy. If it bothers you, please tell me and I can try to adjust. I am just very descriptive and fairly detail-oriented. I am also perfectly fine if you do not always use icons or if you never use icons.I have spent quite a bit of my life as an editor––both informal and for specific organizations. If I catch a small typo––a missed letter, flipped letters, duplicate letters and things like that––chances are I will correct it before I reblog. (I.E. ‘bettter’ to ‘better’ or ‘and thent hey’ to ‘and then they’. Please do not take offense. I simply hate to leave a mistake because I know times where I’ve made a mistake and it’s been reblogged before I caught it and I felt like an idiot. I like to avoid that for all parties where possible. This does not mean I will change anything major––syntax, meaning, etc––and I absolutely will not. Any changes made are only minor things. If you do not wish me to do so, just let me know and I will make a note.SHIPPING. // I am not completely anti-ship, but I’m not specifically looking for ships with any of my accounts. If I ship at all, it is only with chemistry and usually only with people I have written with enough to decide that there is some kind of chemistry, or with whom I have messaged with enough to get the idea that there might be. Shipping is not a given. Do not try to force a ship on me. Mentioning it, asking if it’s a possibility, and/or attempting to plot if there is interest is one thing. Trying to twist my arm into shipping is another.IN CONCLUSION. // If you've stuck around thus far to read all of this, I appreciate you. I very much look forward to writing my muses with other writers, but I am also closer to thirty that not and I am Tired.Don’t start none, won’t be none. For that matter, even if you start some, there STILL won’t be none. It’s as simple as that. I love writing. I love storytelling. I love crafting stories with other people. I love making friends on here. But I’m not going to let this place infringe on my sanity anymore. If someone becomes toxic or unhealthy for me, I will politely inform that person that I am unfollowing and then, if it becomes necessary, blocking them. Period. I’m too old to be dealing with he said/she said, anon hate, and kindergarten antics. I’m here to write. I’m here to have fun. If you’re here for the same reason, we’re golden.

MUTATION ASSESSMENT

ABILITY ASSESSMENT With the strategic shield, hostile attacks can be warded off within a short period and morale of allies can be effectively boosted. These effects are especially useful to Damon himself.
AWAKENING SIGNS The subject's ability awakened at the scene of Councilor Schilder's supposed murder. This case consists of many suspicious details. The reports suggest that the subject erupted in a fit of intense rage and hatred at the time, but more details are to be verified upon further interrogations.
Note FROM MBCC CHIEF: I have since documented the results of my interrogations with Damon Schilder and included them in his file. - E.C.CORRUPTION STATE All cognitive assessments and physical examinations have returned normal results. The subject's corruption level is low and his mind is clear, with no physical signs of mutation detected.

CRIMINAL RECORD

Suspected for the murder of the Speaker Elect of the City Council, Abel Schilder. Violently resisted arrest, severely injuring dozens of Special Task Force members. Over the next eight years, murdered twelve more City Council members.***Note from MBCC Chief:*** Please see case files for the full story. Everything was not as I was led to believe by the City council. Mania is not the only corruptor. Some things are even more terrible. - E.C.

ARREST RECORDS

MBCC-S-013-R0001 Damon Schilder, formerly named Damon Borne, was born in Syndicate. In N.F. 95, Damon was adopted by Councilor Abel Schilder. Damon later became a captain of the Special Task Force under the FAC.MBCC-S-013-R0002 During his time as the FAC's Special Task Force captain, Damon was proactive with his duties and helped Councilor Schilder gain support from a considerable portion of Eastside's population. After the incident, the subject was blamed for the death and besieged by the Special Task Force.MBCC-S-013-R0003 The subject escaped the Special Task Force's siege and was on the run for eight years, during which time he violently resisted arrest repeatedly. The MBCC and FAC joined forces to send out a large number of police officers and eventually arrested Schilder after a great deal of sacrifice.MBCC-S-013-R0004 Investigation shows that the real culprit of Abel's death was an opposition party. During the election speech, Councilor Schilder was showing signs of mutation after being attacked by a Mania Weapon, and Captain Schilder had no choice but to end his life. A family member, Vera Schilder, was turned over to Black Water by the justice system, who then gave her to Parma Labs. She is now confirmed to be dead.**NOTE FROM MBCC CHIEF**: The fact of Vera's death was brought to the attention of the trial room by the 9th Agency––during the trial to determine whether or not Damon would be publicly executed for his crimes. His sentence was commuted to lifelong imprisonment within the MBCC. His sister's remains were retrieved and interred. - E.C.

CASEFILE

To the best of my knowledge all notes I have made herein are truthful and accurate. – MBCC Chief E.C. [excerpts from game, edited for use]

FILE NOTE:

PHASE ONE: CAPTURED AT LAST

Following a 60-hour interagency manhunt that led to an apprehended Damon Schilder needing immediate medical attention and a surgery that was necessary to remove 300g of shrapnel from his body, as well as what would have been considered a lethal dose of sedative to likely anyone else, I sat in the interrogation room with Damon Schilder, attempting to gather information pertaining to the facts of his case.Though the interrogation took a turn and ended poorly, something doesn't seem right.Damon's reactions today only add more mysteries to the case. Though we have enough evidence to prove him guilty––and he has even admitted his guilt in part or in whole on most matters regarding the case––we still have no idea what his motives are beyond his answer of 'revenge'. Revenge for what? This is especially puzzling considering his strange and pronounced reaction to the bracelet given to me by the city council to show him if he was proving uncooperative. Their certainty that it would provoke a reaction was correct, though I wonder about their intention as it led to Damon becoming enraged and breaking free of his restraints. Adjutant Nightingale administered a tranquilizer to prevent harm to both myself and Damon. The City Council claimed that Damon Schilder is a cold-blooded, murderous psychopath, but, while there is a great deal of anger just beneath the surface, there are things I saw today that suggested otherwise. There is something more to this. I will need to do more research and find the right questions to ask before the answers potentially are lost forever with his impending trial and likely execution. – E.C.

PHASE TWO: … AND ESCAPED ONCE MORE

In an attempt to ready for Damon's rapidly approaching trial, I arranged to interrogate him again, this time in his cell. Adjutant Nightingale was displeased with my decision, but I believed it was more than clear after the last time that the precaution of the interrogation room wouldn't amount to much more than a barrier to getting the truth, and I had hoped that meeting him on more equal footing might help to put him at ease. When I reached his cell, the door was already unlocked and open. Upon closer inspection, I was struck from behind and lost consciousness. He proceeded to use me as a hostage to escape from MBCC.When next I regained awareness, I was tied to a chair in a rundown apartment building––presumably where Damon had been staying prior to his capture and subsequent incarceration.Though agitated, he was not unreasonable, volatile, or violent. He made no threats against my person and even assured me that my people would find me soon. I believe he had purposely left my tracker on me for this exact reason. We spoke and during the course of the conversation, it became abundantly clear that Damon had been framed by the ones actually responsible for the events leading to his Councilor Schilder's death––an opposition party within the City Council who did not want the West District Security Act to be repealed for reasons as yet unknown.Though he had intended to leave, a man representing the 9th Agency––one of the more secretive groups within DisCity––appeared at the door and made an offer that Damon couldn't afford to refuse, though it didn't stop him from thinking about doing so in favor of continuing to handle matters himself, despite his still heavily injured state. Before he could give an answer one way or the other, Adjutant Nightingale arrived with forces and once again dropped him with a tranquilizer, and he was returned to the MBCC.As a precaution and matter of procedure, the MBCC raised Damon's security level once more, but I no longer see this as necessary. Though the decision was made for him, Damon has been cooperative, and we are preparing for his trial. – E.C.

PHASE THREE:
THE TRIAL OF THE CENTURY

The trial was exactly the sort of farce Damon had predicted, though even he could not possibly have known the full extent to which he was correct. No one could have predicted that the trial would end in such a disastrous way. From the start, it became clear to both me that it wasn't a trial we had at which we had arrived, but rather a show to be performed for a judge and jury who could not have cared any less what was said prior to the verdict being rendered exactly as they intended it to be––an immediate public execution. Still, I refused to give up, encouraging Damon who had lost all hope and intervening when possible to try to keep my promise to help him plead his case and reveal the truth.Almost the entire case was fabricated. Sealed testimonies were allowed without witnesses being present and there was no material evidence shown. What evidence Damon possessed to refute their narrative was struck down due to him being unable to produce it in court––having been incarcerated and unable to obtain the records he had meticulously gathered over the past several years. The most damning evidence of all was the supposed testimony of his adoptive sister, Vera Schilder, whose documented testimony allegedly claimed that Damon had been at odds with Councilor Schilder of late. It further claimed that he had hired and provided Mania weapons to the gang that attacked the councilor during his election speech. The city council member presenting the case made it clear that Vera was under their protection. It was a heavy-handed and entirely obvious threat. It was evident from that moment forward that, so long as the opposition had Vera, he would not argue. He plead guilty to every count, and would have been sentenced to execution as they had planned, had the man from the 9th Agency not spoken up and revealed that his agency had raided a Black Water site within the Rust, not far from Parma Labs. Therein they had found several corpses, and among them, Vera Schilder––dead for at least 6 years. What happened next, though horrific, I cannot place entirely on Damon as I believe he suffered a Manic Break. As the man from the 9th Agency meant to take the Judge into custody for questioning in regards to his complicity in this conspiracy, Damon broke free of his chains. It happened so quickly that there was nothing I could do. Damon killed the Judge with his bare hands and then sank to the floor, like a puppet cut from its strings. The man from the 9th Agency commuted his sentence to lifelong imprisonment within the MBCC, and then departed, leaving just the body of the judge, myself, and an all but catatonic Damon. It was some time before I was able to get him to respond at least enough to stand and for us to walk with me to the hall so that we could return to the MBCC before anything else happened. There is now a purge in the city council, from its superior executives to their subordinates. It seems the 9th Agency's work is seeing progress. As for Damon, now that the city council is busy saving its own skin, the MBCC will be his final destination. Carrying the burden of his past crimes and the newest murder of the city council's judge, he will have to fight for the MBCC until one day a Corruptor or something more horrible takes his life. There is no parole, no further commutation. Only a fate grimmer than death. – E.C.

PHASE FOUR: LAID TO REST

Two months following the trial, Damon submitted a request to be the retrieve his sister's remains to be properly buried as it became clear that the 9th Agency had not done so during their raid.Unable to deny the request despite the danger of entering that area of the city––both Damon and his sister deserve much more, but this is all that I can do––we put together a plan and assembled a team for the mission.Entering the Rust is always a dangerous proposition. Only the most desperate and most terrible of people live there as it is mostly populated by Corruptors and the infrastructure and buildings themselves are crumbling to ruins due to disrepair and neglect. This mission is no exception. We were besieged by Corruptors from the start and one encounter led to the collapse of a building, the fallout of which Damon shielded me from, but which left us separated from the rest of the team. They would need twenty minutes to get to us, but Damon rightly observed that the noise would have drawn the attention of every Corruptor anywhere in the vicinity and time was of the essence. I gave the order for the rest of the team to proceed to the extraction point while myself and Damon continued on the mission. We located Vera's remains––no more than bones now resting on a dingy bed in a dilapidated room––and, after a moment to compose himself, Damon placed them into a specialized backpack for transport. From there we began our exit, but it became quite apparent that our plan would not be possible as the near army of Corruptors were too close on out trail and they would doubtlessly follow us into the Syndicate and there would be a bloodbath before FAC troops could respond and there were not enough MBCC personnel in the Syndicate area to provide adequate support under such circumstances.Damon insisted that I continue to the evacuation point and that he would hold the line to protect those in the city until we could get them out of harm's way. Seeing no other option, I left him there with a promise to return the moment I was able, and I began the task of rallying resources and troops to evac the area that would be immediately in danger. It took far longer than I would have liked and all I could do was keep feeling for that connection through the shackles. It wavered and faltered before flaring again, like the flame of a candle almost spent, but it never went out… until the moment that I was within sight of him once more and I saw him collapse.I ran to him to render aid. – E.C.

RESOLUTION

Damon survived, but he has a long road to recovery and from more than just the physical wounds of holding back the waves of Corruptors. Trapped beneath the weight of his guilt, I am uncertain that he will ever fully recover.Once physically recovered and able to resume his work for the MBCC, I fully intend to set him as the unofficial team lead on operations involving his fellow sinners. With his background as Captain of the Special Task Force, he is uniquely suited and qualified for this role, and I believe the team––whoever may be on it at the time––will benefit from his experience and leadership, as well as his strength and his strong drive to protect those around him.***Secure Personal Note from Adjutant Nightingale***: What the Chief has omitted from her report but I feel I must notate even just for myself is that she is uncertain but she may have used the shackles to prevent MBCC-S-013 from dying. She may, in fact, have resuscitated him through the use of the shackles, in conjunction with traditional means. – N

canon divergence

Note from the writer: Though I do not yet have any major points of canon divergence, this game is ongoing and there may be something I add here somewhere down the line.Currently the only main change is that I have given him the name 'Damon', rather than 'Demon'. As he grew up with an abusive biological father, I find it very likely that the name he goes by in the game is a twist on his actual name, began by his biological father and, growing up where he did in the Syndicate––think gangs and mafia and yakuza but completely unpoliced without even the pretense of law or oversight and governance––'Demon' stuck.I am also very likely to create canon divergent verses that are happier, such as where his sister is not, in fact, dead and he can have at least one thing less on his conscience.

CONNECTIONS

NAME Abel SchilderDamon's adoptive father, Abel, was a kind and patient man who tried to change his city for the better––starting with the young boy he adopted and then expanding from there. He paid for such optimism with this life. Damon will carry guilt for his death for the rest of his own life, whatever its duration.

NAME Vera SchilderAbel Schilder's biological daughter and Damon's adoptive sister, Vera was much like her father, kind and patient with an endless capacity for love. She was hopeful and compassionate and brave. Her loss is beyond explanation and still far too fresh to think about for too long.

NAME CHIEF ESTERE CURIELThe somewhat mysterious chief of the MBCC, Estere is another kind soul willing to fight for what's right no matter the cost. She is one of the only people to show genuine concern for Damon since his father's death, and she has done all that she can to help him, a fact for which he is both aware and grateful.

NAME ADJUTANT NightingaleAdjutant to Chief Estere Curiel, Nightingale is a no-nonsense officer who keeps the MBCC running as smoothly as possible…which sometimes means running interference for the Chief when she winds up in trouble with the other city agencies.

NAME 036, FAC Captain Roland ArouetA loyal and steadfast ally of the Chief, Captain Arouet has supported Chief Curiel and her sinners through some of their darkest moments and still would not waver, protecting them to the end of the line.

NAME Arrest Captain Michael SandsCaptain Sands can be sarcastic and a bit flippant at times, sometimes placing him at odds with others, though there is no question that he will do his job to the best of his ability.

NAME Hecate // MBCC-S-019Another enigma, Hecate is nevertheless one of the least varying members of any team sent out to deal with threats, as she is almost always wherever the Chief goes. Her abilities of nightmare keep enemies at bay, but Damon sometimes wonders if she is the one haunted.

NAME HELLA // MBCC-S-098Having grown up in Syndicate, though barely more than a child, Hella is a capable and even formidable opponent and a valued team member. Despite her tough exterior and rough language, she is very caring young lady who does everything she can to help the Chief.

NAME Zoya // MBCC-S-028Leader of the Legion gang, Zoya is an unstoppable force who has yet to meet an immovable object. She is also pure chaos, often 'improving' supplies carts within the MBCC to go faster, instigating fights among inmates, and initiating arm wrestling competitions. OH, yes, and she also set up her own office in the MBCC.

NAME EARL // NOT YET APPREHENDEDThe advisor and righthand to Zoya, Earl is a calculating and somewhat aloof man adept at the gathering of information. He is also their main strategist, and he is in many ways both the guidance and the vision behind Legion in his quest to make their section of the city safer once more––largely driven by his concern for his younger sister, Horo.
